Five people have been injured after a mass stabbing in Amsterdam and authorities say a suspect has been arrested. It is unclear if there are any fatalities, and the motive for the attack is yet to be established.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, there is a police cordon on Sint Nicolaasstraat and in the Dam square, in the centre of the city.
Local police said in a statement on X: "In the stabbing incident on Sint Nicolaasstraat, 5 people were injured. A suspect has been arrested."
The force added: "A motive is currently still unclear, but part of our investigation."
