A Loose Women star is back on her feet after a terrifying health ordeal that landed the 55-year-old in hospital with severe pneumonia, acute kidney injury, and sepsis. She spent an alarming week under medical supervision after collapsing at home but has now revealed she's on the road to recovery, having regained 80% capacity in one lung. The resilient presenter shared details of her comeback story exclusively at Nick Ede and Alexandra Burke's Spring Ball in London, marking it as her first official night out post-recovery.

Back in February, the star took to social media to inform her followers about her health scare, revealing that she had been hospitalised. She recounted how severe flu in December quickly escalated into a life-threatening situation, explaining that while it has been quite a long recovery process, it's forced her to slow down her pace of life, reports OK! Magazine.

Andrea McLean said, "I'm feeling really good now, this is actually my first real night out since it happened," alluding to her health scare with immense positivity during her stylish return to the social scene. She credited her recuperation to taking life at a more measured tempo, along with key lifestyle adjustments. Andrea also expressed immense gratitude towards her husband Nick (Feeney) for his dedication throughout her ordeal.

She said:"Nick's life stopped for the first few weeks of the new year too, as he drove me into hospital every day, and then every other day, until I was officially discharged. He sat outside the unit where I was being tested, scanned, attached to drips and waiting for discussions with a doctor – for hours and hours at a time. He drove me home, made everyone dinner, listened to them all talk about their day, then put me to bed. And then did it all again the next day. And the next."

Attending the charity ball, dedicated to raising funds for stroke awareness, had special significance for Andrea, who was accompanied by her husband, Nick. She discussed the personal connection to the cause, sharing with the publication, "It is a cause close to me, my grandmother suffered a stroke. So yes, it's an important thing to raise awareness for," highlighting the importance of the event within her own family narrative.

More recently, Andrea admitted she is still on the mend after another visit to A&E due to a fall at home that left her with a black eye.

She recounted the ordeal on Instagram, stating: "I just woke up yesterday morning and got out of bed too fast, I guess before I'd properly woken up. By the time I'd walked the few steps to the bathroom I thought: 'I don't feel too good..' and fainted. I landed on my face. Literally, face-planted onto the bathroom floor.

"I have been checked out at AandE and thankfully my cheekbone isn't broken, and I won't lose any teeth. I was really lucky. Lesson learned. Take a moment. I'm not quite 'better' yet."
