Prince Harry’s recent legal battles have reportedly “taken its toll” on the duke according to an insider. The Duke of Sussex, 40, lost his court appeal over his UK taxpayer-funded security rights earlier this month, leaving the prince disappointed.

After finding out about his lost appeal, the duke sat down with the BBC and gave an interview in which he said his father King Charles “won’t speak” to him as a result of the security matters. He also said he feels like he was “singled” out when his security rights in the UK were reduced in 2020 - the same year he quit life as a senior royal and moved to the US.

Now, an insider who knows the prince has revealed that the legal battles have taken a “toll” on the dad-of-two.

The source told Hello!: "It's taken its toll. He sees things everywhere, he picks battles with everybody, and that's tiring.

"You can't live in permanent battle mode. You're a 40-year-old man. You've got to stop fighting the world."

In the BBC interview, Harry also suggested that he wanted the rift with his royal relatives to end, with security having reportedly been one of the reasons behind his fractured relationships.

The prince told the BBC: “I would love reconciliation with my family, there's no point in continuing to fight anymore.”

He continued: “Life is precious, I don't know how much longer my father has, he won't speak to me because of this security stuff."

It is believed Harry has experienced challenging relationships with some of his royal relatives since quitting royal life in 2020 alongside his wife Meghan Markle, 43.

One of the fractured relationships the duke has is between himself and his brother Prince William, 43, with the pair reportedly having not been on talking terms since the release of Harry’s memoir Spare in 2023.
