This scenic island has been named as one of the most romantic in the UK and it’s a place that is home to stunning scenery. Stag and hen do coordination specialist Jak Kennedy from Scotland’s MadMax Adventures has conducted research into the top most posted spots on Instagram with stunning natural backdrops, ideal for a romantic holiday. The research analysed the best spots for proposals to decide the best places for couples to holiday.
The Isle of Skye had a huge 1.1 million posts on Instagram putting it as one of the best destinations for lovers to escape to. Jak says: “Talisker Beach, with its towering cliffs, offers an iconic setting, while the mystical Sligachan Bridge, tied to local legends, creates a magical atmosphere.
“The stunning scenery makes it easy to understand why this location ranks so highly.”
If you plan to visit the area, one place you can’t miss is Neist Point which is home to beautiful views.
One visitor on Tripadvisor said: “Fabulous, scenic location to see some of Skye's amazing clips and coastline.
“The walk to see the lighthouse is quite steep, both going down and returning back up, but the handrail certainly helps.
“There is also a great view of the lighthouse without going down the valley - just walk around the cliff top opposite the lighthouse and you get an outstanding view.”
Another place you can’t miss is Fairy Pools which is free to visit at any time. Located in Glenbrittle, here you’ll find beautiful rock pools filled with mountain water which flows from a series of beautiful waterfalls.
If you’re wondering where else made the list of most romantic destinations, Glencoe was another top spot along with Seacliff in East Lothian and Isle of Mull and Finnich Glen.
Jak adds: “Glencoe’s rugged beauty has earned it a reputation as one of the most picturesque spots in Scotland, and it's easy to see why it attracts so many social media posts.
“Often called the Scottish Grand Canyon, it’s perfect for couples who love nature and adventure.”
