Actress Mia McKenna-Bruce is being tipped as the next global British star by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall.
The top screenwriter has adapted Agatha Christie’s classic 1929 novel The Seven Dials Mystery into a lavish drama for Netflix, in which the 27-year-old Londoner plays Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent.
And Chris, 55, who cast Olivia Colman in ITV hit Broadchurch and Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor Who, says Mia, Bafta’s Rising Star last year, is a name to remember.
“It’s a proper delight of a show, it’s a hoot and I would definitely say keep your eye on Mia,” he said.
“She is such a star, she is going to knock people’s socks off.
“I don’t normally say that in advance of something going out. The same way I felt about Olivia and Jodie, I feel about Mia in Seven Dials, wow!
“She is in scenes with people like Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman, and she owns it.”
