Jeremy Kyle is set to return to ITV six years after his eponymous show was cancelled following the death of a guest. In September 2024, the 59-year-old declared he'd been exonerated after an inquest concluded there was no "clear and reliable causal connection" between guest Steve Dymond's appearance on The Jeremy Kyle Show and his suicide.

The long-running chat show was abruptly cancelled in 2019 after the 63-year-old was found dead. Just a week earlier, Mr Dymond had been filming for the show to prove that he hadn't cheated on his partner, during which he failed a lie detector test. The inquest heard that he had been left "broken" and "distraught" after filming and that Kyle had told the guest to "grow a pair" and that he "wouldn't trust you with a chocolate button".

They also heard that he had encouraged the audience to "boo him" after Mr Dymond failed a lie detector test. While the coroner noted Mr Dymond's "mental distress", they said the Jeremy Kyle Show could not be seen as a "direct cause of Mr Dymond's distress" and that Kyle's treatment of Mr Dymond was not a "contributory factor" to the death.

Now, Kyle is set to return to the channel six years after bosses took his show off air appearing on Life Stories with Kate Garraway. Sharing a post to social media, the dad-of-four opened up about the event. He wrote: “Delighted to be back on ITV this Tuesday at 9 pm with the amazing @kategarraway for Life Stories..It might well be worth watching if only to laugh at my ridiculous Bowl Cut aged 6.

According to The Sun, he will speak candidly with Kate about the end of his show. He tells her: “I understand entirely that the Kyle Show had to fall on its sword as a result of that. You can be the king of the castle one day and the next day not allowed in the castle grounds. We launched in 2005, that was just before the advent of social media, and I think that changed everything.”

The presenter then explains that he thinks his show wouldn’t be made today as the world has changed too much. He complains: “You can't say boo to a goose now, can you?” After sharing his news on Instagram, his fans were quick to applaud him and beg for the show to come back. One loyal follower gushed: “ITV don't deserve you JK, but it will be nice to see you back on TV. Even though I listen to your amazing drive time show on Talk. Keep up the good work, we need more people like you.”
