Bruce Glover has died aged 92. The actor played assassin Mr Wint in James Bond' film Diamonds Are Forever. His son Crispin, who is also an actor, has paid a heartbreaking tribute to his dad.

Back to the Future star Crispin shared the news of his father's death to followers on Instagram by posting a photo of himself as a child with his dad and mum. He wrote: "Bruce Herbert Glover. May 2, 1932 - March 12, 2025." There was no mention of how his dad had died.

Devastated family friends and fans flocked to comment, with one writing: "Sorry to hear about your dad passing. I remember many years ago when you came to our house for boyscout, my dad was your boyscout leader. We lived on Gilmore Avenue and you and your family lived on the next street over. At the time I was a kid but I knew your dad was famous and yes I was a bit starstruck when he came to our house to pick you up and meet with my dad. I just wanted to tell you it was a treat to meet your dad."

While another commented: "I had the privilege to sit across the aisle from him at a screening of "What Is It?" At the Egyptian theater. To say he was beaming with pride was an understatement. He was all class. My best to you and your family Mr. Glover."

A third wrote: "I'm so very sorry to hear this. It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you both in Chicago many years back."

Bruce Glover made a number of notable film appearances in the 70s, including 1974's Chinatown, 1973's Walking Tall and Hard Times (1975). His first TV appearances came via 1963's My Favourite Martian, 1965's Perry Mason: The Case of the Golden Girls and then The Rat Patrol in 1965. He also starred in 1970's Mission: Impossible and The Dukes of Hazzard (1979).

He also once worked with his son, who followed Glover's footsteps into the showbiz world. In the 2005 film It is Fine! Everything is Fine, Crispin directed his dad.

“Well you know, we are not family when we are acting. I am in the character and the scenes we were in together we are both in character so we are not Crispin and we are not Bruce. We are the characters,” Glover explained. “It is like good and talented actors become the characters and it has nothing to do with father and son.”

Before appearing on screens, he served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955, during which time he served six months in Korea.

In a 2019 interview with The Original Van Gogh’s Ear Anthology, Glover said his first-ever job was delivering groceries at the age of six. He shared: "I guess this woman had a store. She thought it was cute and decided to offer me a job. Ten cents a day delivering groceries after school and Saturday mornings so I made sixty cents a week."
