A bombshell phone call from Prince Harry changed everything, according to the Sentebale charity's boss, Dr Sophie Chandauka. The Duke of Sussex, 40, co-founded Sentebale in 2006 along with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, with the aim of their charity being to help children who are affected by HIV/AIDS.
The pair both made the decision to sensationally step down from the charity last week, which has since prompted a feud between Harry and Dr Chandauka - who has accused him of "harassment and bullying at scale".
In an interview with Sky News, Dr Chandauka claimed that Harry appeared to be putting his Netflix show ahead of a fundraising event for the charity". Speaking about a charity polo match that took place in Florida last April, she added: "We had a very generous family that was happy for us to use their polo grounds at a material discount.
"And then, about a month before the event was about to take place, Prince Harry called the team and said: 'I'm doing a Netflix show, and I would love to bring a camera crew'."
Speaking about the repercussions of Harry's call, Dr Chandauka claimed that after the contract with the venue's owner was changed to "a commercial undertaking," they lost the venue as they "couldn't afford it."
Discussing Meghan, who was seen involved in an awkward encounter with Sophie at the event, she then added that the 43-year-old was not originally expected to be in attendance.
Meghan, who is mum to Harry's two children, then later made the decision to attend - along with her "very famous friend" Serena Williams.
Speaking of Meghan's "disruption" to the event, she added: "We would have been really excited had we known ahead of time [Meghan was coming], but we didn't. And so the choreography went badly on stage because we had too many people on stage"
