A popular UK park has been branded “magical” after footage circulated showing it looking like “something from a movie”.
There’s no shortage of beautiful parks and green spaces up and down the UK, offering a host of terrains and backdrops from mountains and lakes, to dense forests and rivers.
People craving scenic hikes and thrilling activities are spoilt for choice with destinations like Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park, while those on the hunt for picturesque beauty and cycling trails can get their fill in the Peak District National Park.
Snowdonia National Park is home to the highest mountain in England and Wales while the Lake District is a UNESCO World Heritage site. There’s plenty more stunning scenery to drink in across the UK, which boasts something for everyone.
Of course, there’s more intimate and casual but no less beautiful sites available across the country where friends, families, singles and couples can lounge together or tuck into a picnic, walk their dog, feed the local ducks, entertain their children with swingsets and slides, and all manner of other spring and summer activities.
The arrival of spring brings with it blooming florals and brighter days. Cherry blossom trees typically come into season, decorating various areas with dazzling pops of pink and white.
One park has been praised for its vibrant blossom trees - Battersea Park. The London, Wandsworth hotspot is known and loved for its beauty and various attractions.
Built between 1854 and 1870, the 200 acre Victorian park can be found on the banks of the Thames in the south west of the capital city. It boasts a riverside promenade, a large lake, children’s play areas, a children’s zoo and the famed Pump House Gallery.
Battersea Park also serves as a ceremony venue, and is home to a vast array of trees and ecological zones. It also offers a decent mix of sports facilities such as Go Ape, cycle hire, a trim trail, boat hire and more.
The peak blossom season in London is typically between late April and early May, but the trees have already bloomed in Battersea Park, creating a sea of pink, cloud-like trees.
In a video shared on TikTok by Anna, a London-based travel blogger, the many cherry-blossom trees in various spots of the park are on full show.
Over the top of the footage, Anna penned: “Reminder that Battersea Park looks like a movie right now.” In the caption accompanying the clip, the creator, who posts under the handle @nospaceinmypassport, added: “So magical. Have you seen the cherry blossoms in Battersea Park yet?”
In the comments section, one person simply said: “omg I need to go” while another fan of the park added: “Missing it so much!”
If you’d like to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom at the park, you can visit from 8am until dusk. Access to park facilities is via the park gates, which open at 6.30am and close at 10.30pm.
