Prince Harry "feels as if he has had one of his fingers cut off" after he felt he had no choice but to resign from the charity he set up in his mothers' name.
Alex Rayner, an old Estonian school friend of the prince who went to the North Pole with him in 2012, said the pair spoke over the weekend and Harry is "shocked" about the allegations Sentebale chair Dr Sophie Chandauka has made against him.
