BBC presenter Louis Theroux is gearing up for a significant move in addressing his alopecia, a condition he's been battling for years after initially disclosing his hair loss issue in 2022. Taking to Instagram, the celebrated documentary maker offered an insight into his life with alopecia, indicating his readiness to embrace a significant change in the near future.

In a post accompanied by a snap where his hair appears notably short, Louis, aged 54, expressed: "Latest from Alopecia-land. I've cut the hair short because I realised the longer it was, the worse it looked. But it's patchy AF, and I'm basically preparing the way for a full head shave some time in the next 12 months." Louis, who has reportedly agreed to partake in a fresh venture with celebrity Katie Price, didn't lose his trademark wit while announcing his decision to shave off his hair entirely, implying that he'll seek inspiration from charismatic bald luminaries like actors Stanley Tucci and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

He elaborated on his intended style overhaul: "Big glasses a la Tucci, big muscles a la Dwayne Johnson, plus a year-round tan. That's the formula."

Additionally, he humorously reflected upon his journey with his distinguished brown tresses by posting a throwback security pass photo from when he was in his twenties, quipping: "I've included a last photo from 1994 that I stumbled on yesterday as a reminder that the hair was always a problem, which I will have to worry about less and less as it disappears. It's like when your house burns down. 'At least I don't have to hoover!'."

Louis Theroux has again taken drastic measures to address his hair loss, revealing that he shaved off his eyebrows in December 2023.

Following the removal of his uneven brows, Louis joyfully shared in March that he had undergone a procedure to have new eyebrows tattooed, expressing his delight with the outcome.

"I'm happy to have my old face back. The new brows are neater and more shapely than my 'real' ones were. But there are a couple of wisps of my remaining hair in there, which help make them look more natural," he commented on the microblading process, which involved "two sessions of a couple of hours."

Despite trying to remain optimistic about his alopecia, Louis confessed that he worries his wife, Nancy Strang, might find him less attractive.

During an appearance on the This Past Weekend podcast last July, he confided, "It's stressful. I care a bit because I think my wife cares.

"And the last thing I need is to be even less attractive to her. She is too good for me. She's so much better looking than I am. But I was on TV when I met her, so it was adjusted. It was adjusted for celebrity."
