In 2009, Susan Boyle rocked the nation as she joined the Britain’s Got Talent stage and unexpectedly belted out an astounding rendition of the 1980 hit I Dreamed a Dream. The then 47-year-old arrived on stage to a grumpy Simon Cowell who had faced a string of bad auditions and wasn’t expected to be blown away.
Despite finishing the competition in second place, she went on to enjoy a successful career after selling 25 million copies of her debut album, a sold-out tour and becoming an author. Susan also made UK music history by becoming the first female artist to achieve three successive album debuts at No.1 in less than two years. With success came a major transformation to the Scot’s appearance and she looked near-unrecognizable as she issued fans with a major announcement.
Looking glowy and bronzed in a full face of make-up and a stunning pink lipstick, Susan looked far from her BGT days.
With her luscious brown locks perfectly trimmed into a fringe, the singer exuded confidence as she teased her return to the spotlight in celebration of her 64th birthday.
Susan announced: “Today’s a special day — it’s my birthday! But I’ve got something exciting to share… I’m back and working on some wonderful new projects that I can’t wait for you to hear about.”
In a Facebook post, she added: “More news will be coming very soon, but I just wanted to say how much I’ve missed you all.
“Your support means the world to me and I’m more determined and excited than ever. Love, Susan x.”
As well as debuting her new look, in the clip the performer was also dressed up in a bright pink suit and sparkling heels. This announcement comes after she stepped away from the public eye in 2022 after suffering a stroke.
However, in 2023, Susan made her return to BGT with a special performance and said: “I fought to be back on stage and I have done it.”
