Meghan Markle may have her own cooking series which shows just how many dishes she excels at in the kitchen, however it appears the mum-of-two is not always in the mood to spend hours behind the stove. While “With Love, Meghan” showed the Duchess of Sussex, 43, perfecting meals and snacks for her friends, Meghan has always been clear that life behind the walls of her Montecito mansion is not always like that.
Although she likes to cook for her husband Prince Harry, 40, and their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, the duchess has not failed to acknowledge how busy parenting is. This means that although she loves to host and cook, the duchess does not always have time to put the practices used in her show into her daily routines, and instead relies on freezer food like many other mums across the globe. In a new interview with The New York Times, Meghan told the publication that if it is only her at home with the children, there are three simple dinner options that they usually choose from.
The duchess said she relies on chicken nuggets, veggie burgers and Tater Tots for herself and her children on these busy days, with the freezer reportedly being “stuffed with them”.
This new insight is a rare revelation by the duchess, with both Meghan and Harry having shared very little information about their children and their home lives since quitting royal life in 2020.
However, while it has now been confirmed what the royal children enjoy for dinner, their breakfast preferences have also been made public over the last few months.
In the build up to the release of her Netflix show, Meghan shared publicly that her children like a number of breakfast foods, especially “surprise pancakes” which Meghan either cooks with rainbow sprinkles, chocolate chips, or blueberries.
Meghan told People magazine earlier this year: "They (Archie and Lilibet) don’t know what’s going to be on the other side when it flips over."
The duchess also said that both her children like toast with jam or other fresh fruit preserves as they often help to pick the fruits with her from the garden.
