Ryanair has launched a new twice weekly service that will enhance Scottish connectivity with Poland. The new route from Aberdeen International Airport to Krakow began yesterday, April 2, where the north-east of Scotland's largest transport hub officially marked the launch of the exciting new travel option for holidaymakers.

The budget airline unveiled its new twice-weekly service which will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Krakow becomes the airport’s second direct connection to Poland, joining the popular Wizz Air route to Gdansk. Ryanair's latest service from Aberdeen is the fourth to be launched, joining services to Malaga, Alicante and Faro. Mark Beveridge, Managing Director, Aberdeen International Airport, said Krakow, renowned for its jaw-dropping architecture, was one of the most highly requested destinations”.

He said: "Krakow has been one of the most highly requested destinations from Aberdeen, and we are delighted that Ryanair has responded to demand by introducing this much-anticipated route. We are not only celebrating the start of this Krakow route but Ryanair’s decision to increase its Faro, Alicante and Malaga services to three flights per week underscoring its commitment to operations in our city.

"With a 50% increase in capacity for summer 2025 and 20,000 additional departing seats, these enhancements highlight the growing demand for European destinations from the North East."

Krakow, the first city in the world to be fully protected by UNESCO, is considered a very affordable city.

You can eat a delicious hearty meal in a restaurant for around £10 while a pint of beer will set you back between £2-£3. You can even indulge in a three-course meal at an inexpensive local restaurant for £16.

Meanwhile, you can expect change out of your £1 when travelling 20 minutes on public transport. A 20 minute journey on a bus or a tram is just £0.76 and a standard double hotel room is just £25 per night.

As Poland's former capital and a significant center of European culture, Krakow is a city that combines the historic with the cosmopolitan.

Its rich history is reflected in its architecture, museums, and historical sites. Krakow's well-preserved medieval Old Town and Main Square is a great place to start exploring Krakow.
