The 'Happiest hour' for thirsty revellers has finally been revealed after a study found the exact conditions for a perfect pint - and it will be later today. Thatchers cider asked Gen Z (aged 18-27), Millennials (28-45), Gen X (44-59) and Baby Boomers (60-78) what conditions made for the perfect relaxing drink, from the temperature, time, company, food, location and occasion.

Brits revealed 21C and sunny the ideal weather - which could be later today with Friday's weather set to be the hottest day of the year and 22C tipped for London. The best time of the day for the perfect pint is the post-work sweet spot of 5.25pm.

Gen Z (aged 18-27) and Millennials (28-43) said the ideal company is with friends, while Gen X (44-59) and Boomers (60-78) want to drink with their partner.

The nation agreed that pub gardens are the location for the perfect pint, with 41 per cent of respondents ranking this British institute as their ideal spot for a drink.

Pub gardens beat the inside of pubs, home gardens and beaches to the top spot when people were asked to rank their top locations for a perfect pint of cider.

Pizza beat crisps to the number one spot as the food accompanying the perfect pint of cider, while fish and chips came third, beating a roast and a curry.
