Ousted Reform UK politician Rupert Lowe has had his personal gun collection seized by police. The independent MP, who was kicked out from Reform over bullying allegations, had the weapons taken last month.

Mr Lowe has vowed to clear his name and said he is co-operating fully with Gloucestershire Constabulary as the guns were confiscated from his Cotswold farm. The former Southampton FC chairman is already facing allegations that he harassed two women. Mr Lowe, who has repeatedly denied the allegations against him, was also reported to the police earlier this year over allegations of verbal threats towards Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf.

Gloucestershire Police have been contacted for a comment.

Mr Lowe, told the Daily Express he has never broken the law and lashed out Reform for “unprecedented wickedness” in trying to "smear" his name.

“I am 67 years old, and I have a 67-year-long unblemished record with the law,” he said. “These are false allegations, designed to maliciously smear my name and ruin my reputation after I dared to bruise Farage’s ego.”

Mr Lowe said the toll on his personal life had been unimaginable.

“The disruption to my life has been significant, with incredibly damaging and distressing consequences for my family - weaponising the police process to vindictively attack and silence a party colleague is unprecedented wickedness.

“Naturally, I have instructed a number of legal teams to pursue the relevant course of action. I am, of course, fully cooperating with the authorities, and look forward to clearing my name.”

A Reform UK spokesman said: “Mr Lowe is being investigated by the police for making multiple threats to kill our chairman. The first was in December, the second in February. Unlike Mr Lowe, we respect their investigation and will let them do their work without lashing out and making false claims in public.”

It comes as a KC questioned whether an investigation into Mr Lowe was conducted “independently of the influence” of Reform UK, in a review commissioned on behalf of the suspended politician.

Mr Lowe said the “independent review” showed the investigation conducted on behalf of the party was “fundamentally flawed, unfair, and influenced by political motivations”.

Reform UK said last month that an “independent KC” had found “credible evidence of unlawful harassment of two women by both Mr Lowe and male members of his team”.

The Great Yarmouth MP lost the Reform whip after the party said it had received evidence of “serious bullying” and “derogatory” remarks made about women in the MP’s offices.

A review, commissioned by law firm Irwin Mitchell LLP on behalf of Mr Lowe and published on Friday, claimed the KC who investigated the politician had “produced” witness statements on behalf of the complainants following lengthy telephone interviews.

It added that “no terms of reference were ever set by the party” and that the report was provided to Reform before the expiry of the deadline set for Mr Lowe to respond to allegations made against him.

The author of the review, named as Gemma White KC, wrote: “In addition to being unfair to Mr Lowe the sequence of events which led up to provision of the report to the party gives rise to real questions as to the extent to which the KC conducted the investigation independently of the influence of the party.”

Ms White claimed it was not apparent that the KC who conducted the investigation commissioned by Reform, named in the party’s report as Jacqueline Perry, had “recent experience” conducting independent investigations into allegations of bullying and harassment.

Following the publication of the review, Mr Lowe said: “Nigel Farage must never be prime minister.”

Mr Lowe was one of five MPs elected for Reform in last year’s election.
