There is no denying that Meghan Markle has firmly made her mark on 2025 - and it’s clear nobody is going to slow her down. The Duchess of Sussex launched her latest business venture, As Ever, on Tuesday, which sold out within minutes. So from multi-million-pound Netflix deals to jam jars and podcasts, celebrity chef Jameson Stocks has now predicted what’s next.
Meghan, 43, sent shockwaves around the globe when she kicked the year off by returning to social media following a five-year hiatus. This was followed by the announcement that she partnered with Netflix and would be starring in her very own lifestyle and cooking show. ‘With Love, Meghan’ trended for days and peaked at number 5 on Netflix's Top 10 list, despite dividing critics.
Following setbacks due to issues surrounding its trademark, As Ever, finally launched earlier this week. Fans were able to buy a selection of products which are said to be inspired by her love affair with cooking and entertaining – as seen on her show where she puts her signature aesthetic into home essentials.
The brand is thought to seasonally drop products and the first collection included a raspberry spread with and without the keepsake packaging, herbal lemon ginger tea, herbal peppermint tea, herbal hibiscus tea, edible flower sprinkles, crepe mix, shortbread cookie mix with flower sprinkles included and limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb.
After taking a look at what was on offer The Daily Express chatted to cooking expert Jameson Stocks who weighed in on products claiming the price points were “extreme” and suggested what we may see her bring out over the coming months.
He said: “Well, I feel that her shop is geared towards the elite and people with more money than sense - and not the everyday person. I’m not sure if it’s her who has set the prices but for me seems a little bit extreme.”
“All I know is that it must be really, really exceptional for them prices,” he added:
In total, there were nine products on offer, which did not surprise Jameson who suggested that there would definitely be more to follow. However, he claimed Meghan may run into one big issue if wanted to branch out into retailers.
He said: “I think her product ranges started off quite small and will no doubt increase it over time.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if she doesn’t bring out her own cookware houseware, aprons,” he continued.
Jameson felt that due to the high price points, including her limited edition honey, which was marked up at $28 [£21.67], Meghan would struggle to strike a deal with supermarkets.
The expert said: “I feel it will plateau out because no supermarket will be able to sell them products at their prices and make a margin."
“There is zero value for money you’re basically paying for a product because of the packaging and whose brand it is,” Jameson added.
The Duchess of Sussex is preparing for the release of her latest podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder.
This will launch next week on Tuesday, April 8 across major audio platforms, including Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts, as it was produced by Lemonada Media.
