Meghan Markle shared her new dessert recipe in a video post on Instagram in the hope that fans will re-create the family recipe named after her daughter, Princess Lilibet.
Writing alongside her video making the sweet treat, Meghan wrote: "I did a spin on my grandma’s banana pudding recipe, making homemade vanilla pudding, layering in fresh chantilly cream (doesn’t the word 'chantilly' make you think of that old Big Bopper song?!), with strawberries soaked in fresh lemon juice and a touch of sugar. Of course, slices of banana and vanilla wafers layer in for this sweet treat we named after Lili. Chantilly Lili." Within one day of the recipe being shared, fans have taken to TikTok to create the dessert themselves and are eager to try it.
Many have said they will be "definitely trying" it.
Sharing their delight ahead of trying the creamy dish, one fan added she had already tried another recipe of Meghan's as well: "I'm definitely making this. I made that lemon honey cake and frosted it with a mix of vanilla pudding and homemade whipped cream - beautiful."
Another wrote: "I just bookmarked this recipe yesterday."
A third said: "Meghan's got me in the kitchen and buying ingredients every week. I'm definitely trying this."
One commented: "Omg this looks so fun and good!!!" while another exclaimed: "Making this TOMORROW, thanks."
Meghan also added a top tip to help perfect the recipe. "Top tip: if you’re in a pinch, just use a box of old school vanilla pudding mix, or if you can’t make the homemade chantilly cream, add vanilla extract and a touch of sugar into frozen whipped topping (you know the one!)
"Whatever you have time for, it will be delicious! **To make the cookies into crumbles, place them in a ziploc bag and use a rolling pin to break them up - easy to do and adds great texture and finish!**"
It comes just days after the duchess's brand, As Ever, sold out in minutes after it went live. As Ever's website features nine products in total, with eight originally available to purchase; however, all of them were sold out within the first hour on Wednesday afternoon.
In a post to celebrate her brand selling out, Meghan said: "Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough…for celebrating, purchasing, sharing, and believing. It’s just the start @aseverofficial. Here we go!"
