Meghan Markle has gifted a wooden box of sweet treats from her brand 'As Ever' to her showbiz pal, Mindy Kaling, the Hollywood star who appeared on her Netflix show, 'With Love, Meghan'.
Inside the treat box were three herbal teas, a crepe and shortbread mix, fruit spread, and flower sprinkles. Mindy Kaling shared a snapshot of the box on her Instagram, tagging Meghan alongside a red love heart. The delivery comes following the 'clash' watched by viewers on 'With Love, Meghan', when Mindy referred to the Duchess of Sussex as "Markle", with Meghan abruptly correcting the actor while filming was taking place. "It’s so funny, too, that you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle," Meghan tells Ms Kaling while they are in her rented kitchen. "You know I’m Sussex now," leaving Mindy stunned.
Meghan continued explaining her choice in name: "You have kids and you go, 'No, I share my name with my children.' I didn’t know how meaningful that would be to me, but it just means so much to go, this is our family name, our little family name."
One fan wrote of the interaction: "Meghan Markle awkwardly correcting Mindy Kaling. Didn’t go down well with some of Mindy’s fans."
Another wrote: "Mindy was trying to make her relatable but she messed it up by being pretentious."
One commented: "My respect for Mindy Kaling has tripled after that Meghan Markle 'sorry Sussex' video."
The eight episodes, which are each 33 minutes long, see Meghan inviting famous friends to a rented home where she shares cooking, gardening and hosting tips.
Last month, Meghan Markle updated fans with a candid video expressing her excitement about a new season of 'With Love, Meghan' on Netflix.
The video showed a personalised baseball cap embroidered with the pun 'Lettuce, Romaine Calm' on the front and 'As Ever, Meghan' on the back.
She did a little dance as she turned her back to the camera to reveal the words on her cap. Alongside the video, Meghan captioned the post: "Lettuce romaine calm...or not(!) because I'm thrilled to share that Season 2 of 'With Love, Meghan' is coming!"
Tudum, the official companion site for Netflix, confirmed that filming had been completed for the show's second season and that it will be streamed in the autumn.
