One of the world's smallest countries is located just 95 minutes from the UK and it is visited by barely any tourists. Europe is full of hidden secrets and some of them aren't that far away, making it surprising that tourists haven't discovered them yet. However, this tiny place, which doesn't even have its own international airport, is extremely well-hidden, wedged between two larger countries and easily missed by even avid travellers.

Liechtenstein is a country of only 160.5 square kilometers (smaller than London) and is located between Austria and Switzerland. While it is located relatively close to the UK, it is a place that many people haven't explored. But some tourists have ventured into this small place and have shared their thoughts about it. One of those people, TikTok creator Mia Williams, shared a clip of her time in the small country, revealing what makes it stand out.

Instantly, one of the things that tells you how small this place is, is the sign posts, which tell you how long ot takes to walk to places rather than drive because of how small and compact it is.

In her video, Williams first went to the tourist centre which is the only place in Liechtenstein where you can get your passport stamped, since there is no airport here. To get to Liechtenstein, you will have to fly into either Switzerland or Austria and take a bus.

The country is known as a scenic one, even if it is small. There is a chair lift that brings you over sweeping green mountain landscapes, as well as many lovely viewing points to overlook the valley. There is also Vaduz Castle, a spot that looks like it has been taken straight out of a fairytale and where the Liechtenstein royal family actually live.

Liechtenstein is so small that you could cycle or walk around the whole country. This makes it a great destination for a day-trip fr people who are visiting its neighbouring countries.

Liechtenstein is located in the Alps and the official language of the micro-state is German. The population of the country is far smaller than near-by cities and even towns, with just under 40,000 people living there.

In terms of currency, it uses the Swiss Franc, which makes it an easy place to visit if you are already in Switzerland. Liechtenstein is considered the sixth smallest country in the world, with Vatican City at number one and the rest of the top five made up of Monaco, Nauru, Tuvalu and San Marino.
