Rooms
The hotel offers a variety of different rooms, catering for all price ranges. Choose between a double or twin room with either a garden view or sea view , which feature a flat-screen TV, free WiFi and an ensuite bathroom.
If you fancy opting for a balcony, you can choose to have one of these rooms. Other room choices include a superior double or twin room with a sea view and balcony, a junior suite or the luxurious penthouse.
We were handed the keys to the penthouse, one of four offerings in the hotel, with scenic views across the bay and a large balcony with sun loungers. The penthouse also features a separate lounge and dining area, free wi-fi, and a mini fridge and tea-making facilities. The large bedroom also featured a table and chair, a dressing table as well as a comfortable bed overlooking the sea.
Additional benefits include access to luxurious toiletries, bottled water and a turndown service from the lovely staff, which we made use of.

How does St. Brelade's Bay Hotel compare to hotels in the UK?
Dining and drinking
The hotel is home to three dining options to choose from, including The Bay Restaurant, The Bay Bar and the Petit Port Cafe, which runs from May through September.
A destination in its own right, The Bay Restaurant's dining room boasts views across the bay, where the chef takes pride in showcasing fresh, locally sourced seafood and vegetables.
You can also unwind in The Bay Bar, which offers an array of food, drinks and entertainment on most evenings.
The Petit Port Cafe offers visitors views across the hotel's main swimming pool as well as views over St. Brelade's Bay, a perfect way to spend a summer's day. It's a perfect spot for hotel guests and non-residents, offering a light lunch or a hearty dinner, as well as cocktails.

For our stay, we dined in The Bay Restaurant. Starters include soup of the day, salt and pepper squid and seared local scallops, whilst main options boast the fish of the day, half a local lobster, truffled pasta and pan-roasted chicken breast supreme. The salmon was the tastiest fish I've ever had, whilst the chicken supreme was moist and melted in the mouth.
Puddings were also delicious, with options including a limoncello pistachio blueberry tiramisu, a cherry bakewell pudding and a blood orange and chocolate delice. The food was of an excellent standard, and the staff couldn't have been more attentive.
The hotel also offers speedy room service with a large menu, and some food items are even available 24/7. Don't forget to try the Sunday lunch menu if you stay over the weekend.
When morning arrives the hotel also serves a continental buffet breakfast, along with freshly cooked pancakes, waffles, omelettes and more. The selection at the buffet breakfast was one of the best I've ever seen, with fresh pastries, full English breakfast options, fruit, cereal and meats.

Location
The location of the hotel was perfect, situated on the bay, just a 10-minute drive from the airport. The upmarket neighbourhood is pleasant to drive through whilst you make your way down to the bay and it's extremely quiet, especially in April.
It's also close to plenty of restaurants and a short drive away from shops such as Marks & Spencer, Waitrose and Boots. Some recommended eateries include The Beach Club, serving delicious food and drink, and Jersey Crab Shack, situated on the beach, a two-minute walk from the hotel. I'd also highly recommend a visit to La Mare Wine Estate, offering tours as well as a restaurant and shop.
St Helier, the capital of Jersey, is just a 20-minute drive away, as are most locations, thanks to the island being just five miles long and nine miles wide. You can also easily explore the Jersey War Tunnels and Elizabeth Castle, both of which are within six miles of the hotel.

It's really hard to put into words how incredible this hotel is; everything from the staff, location, amenities and food options made the stay comfortable and relaxing.
Rooms offer a comfortable place to spend a short or long stay and the unique accents of each room provide a thoughtful, homely touch. The reception area is also very welcoming, with large sofas and armchairs for relaxing, and the gardens are well-manicured.
I couldn't fault this hotel, and I look forward to returning for another relaxing stay.
If you're planning on a relaxing break away with views as good as the Canary Islands, the hotel is a must-visit this year. However, it does get extremely busy during the summer, so it is best to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
