The family of Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Giuffre have broken their silence after the 41-year-old said she had "days to live" following a car crash. Ms Giuffre's brother, Sky Roberts, and his wife, Amanda, have suggested that the injuries shown in a photo posted on Instagram were not solely related to the collision between her car and a school bus in rural Australia at the end of March. In a post accompanying the photo, Ms Giuffre claimed she was suffering from renal failure after the incident and had been given only four days to live.

"Let's be clear, she never stated the bus accident [was] the cause of all her other injuries," Mr Roberts told People Magazine. "Is it going to take her to die for people to believe her?" he added. "Or can you simply be a human and look at the facts and understand this is somebody that legitimately got into an accident [and] legitimately had underlying issues?"

Ms Giuffre shared news of the incident on March 30, writing: "I won't bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can."

A spokesperson later clarified that an accompanying photo of her bruised face was posted on Instagram "in error" and had been intended for her private Facebook page.

The crash made headlines around the world, but police and the other driver involved both appeared to dispute Ms Giuffre's claims, with authorities confirming that a "minor crash" had occurred between a bus and car in Neergabby, north of Perth, on March 24.

Ross Munns, the bus driver involved in the collision, also suggested that the 41-year-old had "blown [what happened] out of proportion".

Ms Giuffre also issued her first public statement since announcing news of the crash on Sunday, telling People that she could "no longer stay silent" after the abuse she had suffered from paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell as a teenager.

She filed a lawsuit accusing Prince Andrew of sexual abuse when she was 17-years-old in 2021 and agreed to an out-of-court settlement the following year.

"I was able to fight back against Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein who abused and trafficked me," she said. "Again, I thank everyone for their support. I have faith that justice will prevail."

Prince Andrew has vehemently and repeatedly denied all allegations against him.
