Outspoken TV host Piers Morgan has weighed in on President Donald Trump's announcement that he is starting a new political party. It comes amid a tumultuous tariff war that's sending ripples across the global economy. Posting on his own social media platform, Truth Social, the 47th President announced a “new party” name, urging people to be patient and “greatness will be the result.” President Trump posted: “The United States has a chance to do something that should have been done DECADES AGO. Don’t be weak! Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!).
"Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!” But the 60-year-old Uncensored host clapped back at his political pal and accused his administration of sending mixed messages: “BREAKING: President Trump tells everyone to stop panicking. The problem is that nobody will stop panicking until or if they properly understand his global tariff war, and see it working. Mixed msgs from his top team aren’t helping.”
When asked if he thought the tariff war was going to work, he said “I have no idea.”
But many fans slammed Piers’ take on the issue, claiming President Trump is simple “standing up for America.”
“We’ve been getting ripped off in trade for decades—and now that Trump is finally standing up for America, the stock market reacts and everyone starts whining. I’d take fair trade and long-term strength over a short-term stock bump any day,” said one fan.
Another user replied: “He doesn't want a Trade war, All he wants is fair trade for the US.....it shouldn't be that hard to understand but apparently it is.”
President Donald Trump unveiled his latest tariff plan last week on "Liberation Day," which the administration said will restore the American Dream and spark an economic boon for U.S. workers.
"American steel workers, auto workers, farmers and skilled craftsmen," Trump said from the White House Rose Garden last week in his announcement.
"We have a lot of them here with us today. They really suffered, gravely. They watched in anguish as foreign leaders have stolen our jobs, foreign cheaters have ransacked our factories, and foreign scavengers have torn apart our once-beautiful American dream.
"We had an American dream that you don't hear so much about. You did four years ago, and you are now. But you don't too often."
He went on to say that the U.S. “will prosper” and he is going to “make America great again.”
"Now it's our turn to prosper, and in so doing, use trillions and trillions of dollars to reduce our taxes and pay down our national debt," he continued. "And it will all happen very quickly. With today's action, we are finally going to be able to make America great again, greater than ever before. Jobs and factories will come roaring back into our country, and you see it happening already.”
