TV host Angellica Bell has opened up about her financial concerns amid an expensive house renovation with her husband, fellow television personality Michael Underwood.
Angellica, who entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last night (Monday, April 7) alongside stars like EastEnders legend Patsy Palmer, chat show host Trisha Goddard and musician Chesney Hawkes, gained fame as a CBBC presenter from 2000 to 2006. She candidly discussed the costly home improvements she and Michael are undertaking.
She confessed: "I don't feel wealthy now. I still have to look at what I've got coming in each month. I'm in the middle of a renovation and trying to do the next part.
"I look at ways to save, at whether there's a cheaper option. I don't feel wealthy but I know I'm fortunate, and I have more than I ever thought I'd have."
Angellica, who occasionally steps in on The One Show, married Michael in New York in 2010. The couple, who met while co-presenting on CBBC, have two children together, reports Gloucestershire Live.
The mother of two, also known for co-hosting the Martin Lewis Money Show, expressed the anxiety that comes with being a freelancer and the uncertainty of income.
She added: "As a freelancer it would be dishonest to say I haven't. But I'm a grafter, and I always think there's a way out.
"In my job one minute you're working and the next you're not. My advice is always have a back-up plan."
Angellica was hit with a major setback before stepping into the Celebrity Big Brother House, as reported by OK!
According to predictions from the AceOdds.com Supercomputer, the presenter is most likely to be the first housemate shown the door.
The supercomputer has a track record of accurate forecasts, having correctly predicted Danny Jones' King of the Jungle victory last year and Corrie star Sam Aston's Dancing on Ice win earlier this month.
After analysing all 23 previous celebrity winners, it concluded that the ideal CBB champion is typically a 38 year old English male TV personality.
"Historically, the first housemate out is a woman around 44 years old, often a model. While Angellica isn't a model, she fits the trend of female contestants in their 40s making early exits – just like Jackiey Budden, Cheryl Fergison and Sally Bercow.
The house also hosts other celebrities including former Love Islanders Chris Hughes, Olympic champion Daley Thompson and politician Sir Michael Fabricant.
