Meghan Markle has finally released her new podcast series and issued a new message to accompany the launch. The Duchess of Sussex took to her Instagram page on Tuesday morning to announce that the first episode of Confessions of a Female Founder is now available to stream. The first episode features Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder of dating app Bumble.
Meghan struck a deal with Lemonada Media, a women-founded company, last year, and the launch of her new podcast has been highly anticipated until now. It coincides with the release of her Netflix show With Love, Meghan and the launch of her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Meghan issued a new 6-word message while announcing the launch on her social media. She said: "Being an entrepreneur can start young." She added: "By the way, all these years later and I’m still selling cookies!"
In the first episode, the two women "talk about the real pressures of launching a business, the highs, the hurdles, and everything in between" according to Lemonada Media, that also made a post celebrating the launch.
The podcast distributor added that their conversation is "filled with honest confessions, invaluable tips, and inspiring moments".
Lemonada Media has previously said that the new show will give listeners a chance to "be a fly on the wall as Meghan sits down for candid conversations with female founders and friends about the success, the struggles, and the never-before-told stories of building a business".
They said Meghan would "navigate the world of entrepreneurship" and allow listeners to be "inspired by the real, unfiltered stories and lessons learned from notable female founders".
The duchess herself said that she is "excited" about her new venture and that listeners should expect to hear "candid" chats with "amazing women who have turned dreams into realities and scaled small ideas into massively successful businesses".
It is not the first time Meghan has ventured into the podcast scene. In 2020, shortly after leaving the Royal Family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex struck a deal with Spotify, reportedly worth £18m.
But their deal ended in 2023 with the couple only producing one show, Archetypes - a podcast hosted by Meghan.
