A source close to Prince Harry's partnership with Netflix has shared that the reports of a pending documentary about the late Diana, Princess of Wales are "not true". It was recently reported that Prince Harry had been approached to make a three-part documentary about his late mother to coincide with the 30th anniversary of her tragic death in 2027.
As the anniversary looms, a senior Hollywood source shared that a documentary would be released to mark the anniversary. The Independent have, however, now shared that these reports are "not true" - with no further comment being made in relation to the earlier report. The latest report came shortly after Meghan released her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, on March 4.
Released as part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's lucrative deal with the streaming service, the eight-part series - which was not filmed in the couple's Montecito mansion - showcased Meghan cooking and chatting to her friends.
Stepping in to defend Meghan after a host of criticism over the series, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said: "We’re a passive partner in Meghan’s company, and it’s a big discovery model for us right now."
He also added: "I think Meghan is underestimated in terms of her influence on culture... People are fascinated with Meghan Markle. She and Harry are overly dismissed."
Diana, Princess of Wales died due to the injuries she sustained from a car accident in Paris in August 1997.
Aged just 36, Diana left behind her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry - who were just 15 and 12 at the time.
In his bombshell memoir Spare, Harry recalled how he struggled to accept his late mother's death - and shared how he believed that she could still be alive until he was 23.
