Rubby Pérez, the legendary Dominican singer who was performing at the Jet Set night club in Santo Domingo when its roof collapsed, is has been confirmed dead at the age of 69. The star had originally been listed as missing following the tragedy. The club saw its roof collapse around 2am local time on Tuesday night, resulting in multiple fatalities at the Jet Set Club. Enrique Paulino, Pérez's manager, confirmed the news to People after the news of his death had already been reported in Rolling Stone and other outlets. Enrique's Instagram profile picture was also changed to black. No other details were released.
Attendees at the club were enjoying a performance from Rubby when disaster struck. The Dominican Republic National Police have confirmed 79 people were killed as a result of the roof collapse as of Tuesday night while 155 transfers have been made to . hospitals in the National District.
