Eamonn Holmes has broken his silence after the veteran broadcaster was a no show on GB News. He usually hosts the morning slot alongside co-star Ellie Costello but was surprisingly absent on Tuesday. Instead, she fronted the breakfast show solo. The former This Morning presenter, 65, has had a tough time in recent years following his exit from the ITV daytime show, including his ongoing health woes and his divorce from wife Ruth Langsford.
It comes after it was recently revealed the broadcaster's latest theatre tour had been scrapped. But now the Belfast-born star has made an announcement as he shared some big news on Instagram. Eamonn has been hard at work as he revealed a brand new project which will soon be released to the public.
In view of his 779,000 followers, he uploaded a clip where he previewed his podcast Things We Like with Eamonn & Paul Coyte, with the duo seen giggling as they had a brew on the sofa.
In the video, he said: "The world can be a depressing place and we are moving away from that," before Paul interjected: "Like bandstands."
Eamonn continued: "And we are going to talk to famous people about the things they like, we are going to talk to Ray Winstone, to David Jason ...
"You wouldn't believe the types of people who are going to tell us what they like."
He captioned the post: "We’re thrilled to announce our brand-new podcast: Things We Like with Eamonn & Paul! his is something you won’t want to miss.
