Prince Harry has been escorted out of court this afternoon after a supporter's outburst interrupted the proceedings. The Duke of Sussex has been at the Court of Appeal in London as he continues to appeal the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the UK compared to when he was a full-time senior working royal. This was a decision made after the duke, 40, and his wife Meghan Markle, 43, stepped back from royal duty in 2020 and moved to the US.
The Duke of Sussex attended the hearing yesterday and today, waving to the cameras as he arrived at the court. However, the duke was in for a surprise in the courtroom today when a member of the publuc shouted her support in the courtroom.
Shortly after the proceedings were paused to allow the room to be cleared early this afternoon for private parts of the hearing, a member of the public shouted: "I support you Prince Harry".
Harry's bodyguards got between him and the woman as the duke was hurried out of the courtroom. The member of the public then said: "If you’re members of the press, you’re the reason he’s no longer in England."
After the woman left the courtroom, Harry returned for the private part of the hearing. It is believed parts of the hearing are being held in private as they contain confidential security matters.
The duke has appeared in person for both days of the hearing this week, having flown from California for the occasion.
