The photographer also said he hopes Harry, 40, who quit royal life five years ago, will see his father after the monarch’s State Visit to Italy ends and "give him a hug.”
The royal expert wrote in The Sun: “The King being admitted to hospital 10 days ago must have alarmed Harry. And it is sad that the Duke of Sussex no longer feels able to go and see his father.
“I know there is really bad blood between William and Harry, which it seems is never going to be put to bed. But I sincerely hope Harry can hang on a few more days after this court case has ended and make the first steps towards a reconciliation by going to see his father at the weekend."
Mr Edwards also made a direct address to the Duke. He said: “Harry, if you read this, I hope you will get on the phone, make an appointment to go and see your dad and give him a hug.”
Harry is believed to have last seen his father in February last year when it was revealed the King had cancer. Despite having visited the UK since, it is thought that Harry has not been able to schedule in another meeting with the monarch.
Mr Edwards' comment comes as Harry has been in the UK this week for his court appeal against the Home Office into the decision that was made in 2020 to reduce his security entitlements when he is in his home country.
The duke attended court on Tuesday and Wednesday for the two-day hearing.
