Strictly Come Dancing's Kai Widdrington announced some tragic news as he paid tribute to Brenda, who he filmed with on The One Show's Big Thank You last week. Sharing a post of himself kissing Brenda on the cheek, he wrote: "I was so sad to hear that the star of our One Show Big Thank You, Brenda, has passed away.

"She was an amazing woman and it was genuinely an honour to meet her. My sincere condolences to her family - Brenda - thanks for all you did for everyone - your legacy will live on, rest well." Only six days ago, Kai surprised Brenda with a cake and a crowd for The One Show's Big Thank You, which is shine the light on people helping those less fortunate than themselves. Brenda had dedicated a lot of time to raising funds for cancer research after battling the disease herself.

In an emotional video shared by Kai, he rushed up to thank her for her incredible work for charity as she struggled to hold back her tears during the sweet celebration. He wrote about the moment: "This week’s #OneBigThankYou goes to Brenda, who despite facing her own cancer journey, has dedicated her life to helping other people in a similar situation."

In another post, Kai shared some pictures of himself with Brenda as he penned: "What an incredible privilege it was to meet the amazing Brenda! Her dedication to raising funds for cancer research is truly inspiring. A heartfelt thank you to Brenda, her family and friends for all that you do and for allowing me to be part of your special day. Also, a big shoutout to The One Show for the wonderful opportunity and for making the One Big Thank You. Together, we can make a difference!"
