Holidaymakers heading to the busiest international ferry port in the UK are facing long queues following an IT failure. The issue, reportedly at the border processing system on the French side, is forcing Dover officials to check passports manually, slowing down the transit.
The port said it was working with "French colleagues" to solve the problem. A statement shared on X read: "TrafficUpdate at #PortofDover at 7am. There is currently a 25 minute wait at border control. Passport checks are taking place manually due to an issue with border processing systems across France. Thanks for your patience."
