Strictly Come Dancing bosses have shunned Giovanni Pernice for a second year in a row, but despite being left out of the line-up for 2025, it seems the Italian dancer is still making quite a living. The 34-year-old dancer left the BBC show after his 2023 celebrity partner Amanda Abbington complained about his conduct during rehearsals. Giovanni strongly denied all allegations against him, and the accusations were partially upheld after an investigation. Since his sensational exit, Pernice has still managed to earn quite a whopping salary through other opportunities.
Pernice – who has now joined the Italian version of 'Strictly', 'Ballando con le Stelle' – reportedly earned £1 million last year, according to The Sun. They also said it was an increase of 38 per cent and was his highest salary to date.
Giovanni has been continuing his solo dance tour across the UK. He was recently announced as part of the lineup at the Wight Proms Festival later this summer, alongside fellow Strictly contestant Wynne Evans, who was axed from the live tour in January.
Earlier this year, he revealed how his "world collapsed" amid the accusations made by Amanda Abbington. Speaking on the first night of his 'The Last Dance' tour, Giovanni said: "I felt the world collapsed... I didn't have anybody around me.
"All the people that were supposed to be my friends disappeared. Nobody wanted to see me, they were like, 'Oh, you can't be with him'."
Giovanni admits that the Sherlock star's allegations left him at rock bottom, but he managed to overcome the ordeal by remaining positive.
He recently suggested that he "would love to return" to the BBC staple but doesn't think producers want him back on the dancefloor. Pernice told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "I think they have closed the book on that and moved on.
"I would love to go back to 'Strictly' because 'Strictly' changed my life. It is a massive show, but I don’t think they’re going to have me back. They’re not."
