Our great country is paying the price of Labour. After 14 years in Opposition, most forgot what Labour was capable of. But this dreadful Government has been a wake-up call. Keir Starmer has raised taxes to record highs, crushed the spirit of private enterprise and trash talked the economy. But it should come as no surprise – they don’t understand business and they never will.

It is just not in their DNA or represented around the cabinet table. We need to save Britain from this punishing socialist government. Until the chance at the ballot box, one thing we can all do now is to buy British.

Labour clearly hasn’t twigged that, in their war on business, it is hard working families who suffer.

Already, we have seen bills go up by over £1,000 because of the choices they have made.

Hardworking families are now less able to cope with skyrocketing bills because they will be £3,500 worse off thanks to the National Insurance Jobs Tax hike.

And with growth, inflation and living standards all going in the wrong direction because of Labour’s political agenda, things will get worse before they ever get better.

They try and blame everyone but themselves.

First it was the Conservatives for creating a made-up black hole.

Then it was the regulators for stifling growth.

And now it is unique economic global headwinds which only seem to buffer Britain.

But Express readers can see the only one common denominator: the Labour Party.

They didn’t prepare for tariffs, and now we are all paying the price.

They need to hot-foot it over to Washington DC, pick up and dust off the trade deal we negotiated with Trump.

Labour ministers traded schoolground insults with Trump when in Opposition, wasted five months not negotiating with him then lost our top trade negotiator.

Is it a surprise they haven’t been able to get a trade deal with our closest ally and largest trading partner?

Britain is a nation of shopkeepers. And that is under threat because of this Labour government’s incompetence. First, they have tried to destroy our farmers’ livelihoods with the family farms tax.

And then they have set about attacking businesses however they can.

It is a potentially lethal one-two punch for Britain’s businesses. Only buying British will stop the most anti-business government we’ve seen since the 1970s delivering a knockout blow.

It isn’t all doom and gloom though.

We are holding this government to account however we can.

As well as people forgetting what Labour were capable of after long years in Opposition, they also forgot what Conservatives were about.

Low tax, sound money, light regulation, low immigration.

These are our values. That is the Britain we will strive for. We are now under new leadership, and we will stand up to Starmer however we can. It’s what our businesses need, and what Britain deserves.
