Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones has dished on her specific non-negotiable rules she always re-evaluates before signing up for a new year of the hit BBC competition series. As the Russian dancer celebrates 10 years on the star-studded show, she let fans into her "Strictly Confession," alongside a montage of photos from the past decade.

Marking the anniversary, Katya shared: "The first came from my very first BBC briefing, where I learned something that’s stayed with me ever since: Strictly is an entertainment show with dance at its heart. I made it my mission never to lose sight of that simple truth." The TV star's second rule is to always be her "true and authentic self." She explained: "Performing is one thing, but pretending to be someone you’re not is exhausting, and it doesn’t last."

The dancer continued: "And third, perhaps most importantly I told myself that the moment I stopped loving this job, would be the moment I walk away. This role demands passion, energy, and an all-in commitment. You simply can’t do it half-heartedly."

Katya then revealed that she regularly checks in with herself to ensure that she still wants to continue her journey and said that it would always be a "firm yes. This year was no different. Nothing fulfils me quite like this "job'.

"It is a true privilege to be part of something that brings joy to so many. To help light up Saturday nights, to be part of a show that’s become such a cherished part of the nation’s heart — it means the world."

Katya added: "Happy 10th anniversary, Strictly. I can confess - I am still totally head over heels for you."

During the BBC production of Strictly Come Dancing and the nationwide live tour, Katya's celebrity Wynne Evans was embroiled in a number of controversial moments and was eventually forced leave the tour prematurely due to constant criticism from viewers.

The GoCompare star has now returned to headlines after he and Strictly's 2024 dancer and EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick were caught up in an "inappropriate" sex toy scandal.

In a clip obtained by The Sun on Sunday, the duo were backstage when Wynne gave Jamie a parcel which is said to have contained a sex toy, which the actor held up, showed to the camera and said: "Look at what he bought me."

According to an insider via the publication, BBC bosses were informed of the “immature footage being shared” and “formally addressed the issue and reminded the pair they had to act professionally”.

They added: "Bosses were horrified and shocked, hoping to nip the issue in the bud, unaware the video had been shared more widely."
