With chocolate and gifts exchanged between loved ones, there is one crucial thing to check ahead of Good Friday. For those planning on sending presents or cards through the post, it is advisable to check the opening times of your nearest Post Office branch.
To avoid turning up to your branch and being greeted with a “closed” sign, acquaint yourself with the days your local branch is open. The majority of stores are typically closed on bank holidays to allow employees some time off and relaxation.

Deliveries will also be affected across the long weekend, as the Post Office does not deliver packages on bank holidays. This means on April 18 and 21, there will be no postal services.
On the weekend, delays are expected due to the backlog generated on Good Friday. However, deliveries are expected to return to normal on Tuesday April 22.
In Scotland, deliveries are slightly different, as households are able to receive post delivered and post collections on Good Friday. Easter Monday will operate the same as England and Wales, with postal services closed.
There are currently 11,500 Post Office Branches across the UK, yet only 108 are completely owned by the company. The rest operate out of its partners such as WHSmith. By the Autumn, the remaining directly-owned branches will be handed over to franchisees too, with some at risk of complete closure as partner stores move to new locations.
