Holly Willoughby's company owes the taxman a huge amount of money, it was revealed in court on Wednesday. A short hearing took place at the Insolvency and Companies court after the company, Roxy Media, was hit with a winding up order back in January.
The order was served on the company, which the former This Morning star shares with husband Dan Baldwin, as the business has reportedly been unable to pay its debt. A winding up petition is a last resort when a company cannot pay a tax bill of more than £750. In court, it was heard just how much was owed - a whopping £377,000, which has been reduced from an original unknown amount.
Chief Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Briggs approved a 12 week adjournment of the case. It will next be heard on July 9. HMRC previously said: “We take a supportive approach to dealing with customers who have tax debts and only file winding-up petitions once we’ve exhausted all other options, in order to protect taxpayers’ money.”
Back in 2022, it was reported that the celebrity couples' company had garnered £4.5 million over a three-year period. The presenter also launched her own official lifestyle brand, Wylde Moon, which sells candles, diffusers and scents, amongst other things in 2021.
In the same year, PR expert Hayley Smith told Metro that the presenter's platform could "bank her a tidy '£6-12million' within a year".
Throughout the years, the presenter has amassed millions of pounds due to various presenting gigs and lucrative partnership deals. The Celebrity Bear Hunt host is estimated to be worth an impressive £10 million, as reported by Hello!. Before her departure from This Morning, the presenter reportedly earned £730,000 a year, which she fronted alongside presenter Phillip Schofield.
Outside her presenting career, the 44-year-old has had huge partnership deals with Marks & Spencer, Garnier and Dunelm and reportedly received a six-figure salary for these deals.
Holly presented ITV's breakfast show, This Morning, for 14 years before stepping down from the role in 2023. The host has also presented ITV's Dancing on Ice since 2006, but with it recently being axed it seems she no longer has an active role with the broadcasters.
