Bradley Walsh has shared why he was left "speechless" during his new show Bradley Walsh: Egypt's Cosmic Code.
For the three-part series, the 64-year-old set out to Egypt in search of answers to some of Ancient History's biggest mysteries.
Some of what he explored includes the riddle of The Sphinx, as well as the history of the pyramids.
One of the elements The Chase host was particularly captivated by was when he visited the tomb of famous ruler Tutankhamun.
Sharing his thoughts on what he discovered, he said: "The boy was only nine when he came king, he had advisers, all those people, he's trying to run this entire country.
"Does he make good decisions? It doesn't matter, he's a kid, he's a boy.
"And when I saw him lying there all those years later, away from his artefacts he was buried with, and thousands of people pass by and not one of them is his family.
"He’s on his own, just lying there and I found that really moving. Don't forget he had a wife and kids, but now he's all on his own."
Bradley went on to say he felt "very very sorry" for the pharaoh.
He added to Best Magazine: "I find it a shame to be on your own after all those years still and not have anyone to say, 'How you doing son, what you up to?'
"I just find find it very very sad and it did render me speechless."
Bradley jumped at the chance of taking on this very different role away from The Chase, due to his "fascination" with the pyramids.
"I have been captivated by Ancient Egypt for as long as I can remember, and now, finally experiencing it firsthand feels truly magical," he added to the publication.
"I have so many questions: Who built the pyramids? Why and how?".
Upon announcing his new show, bookies announced that odds on the presenter leaving quiz show The Chase had increased.
BetIdeas gave odds of 4/6 on his departure, with a spokesperson adding: "Should Walsh depart the programme, the most eye-catching name in the betting to replace him is his son Barney, who is 5/1 to step into his father's shoes in the ITV series.
"Stephen Mulhern is the market favourite at 2/1 to become the show's next presenter, with Roman Kemp (5/1) also in the running."
However, despite the speculation, the presenter has made no announcement about leaving the show.
Bradley Walsh: Egypt's Cosmic Code continues tonight at 9pm on Sky History.
