Radio 1 DJ Kate Thistleton has revealed she has had to have emergency surgery - just six weeks after giving birth. The Morning Live host, 35, recently welcomed her son Reuben, but was left in agonising pain shortly after his birth as she was sent for emergency surgery. In a lengthy Instagram post Kate said doctors discovered a cyst on her ovary which resulted in excrutiating pain.
Katie revealed her hospital dash today, telling her followers: “So l'm 6 weeks postpartum today and was so excited to be officially recovered from c section and drive again etc but ended up having emergency surgery on my ovary a couple of days ago for a 16cm (huge) cyst that had twisted the ovary and tube.
“Guys when I tell you the pain was insane, if they'd offered to shoot me in the head I'd have taken it. Luckily they managed to save the ovary after thinking it might need to go.”
The star reassured her fans that she is now back home with her family, adding “big up the surgeons”.
