A man has been apprehended after he was reportedly seen "slashing a teenage girl in the face while on top of her" in a horrifying incident outside a school. The shocking event unfolded at Alec Reed Academy in Northolt, west London, where a brawl is said to have erupted on Wednesday evening.
Eyewitnesses reported that an assailant attacked a 17 year old girl with a "sharp implement", before being pursued by two men who had been in their cars. He was then allegedly "herded" towards the school gate as police arrived.
A father of four, one of the men involved, told the Standard: "I was shocked by what I was seeing.He was mounted on top of her and slashing. I didn't want to get stabbed, but we herded him into the school gate. I'd do what any other person would do."
The girl was immediately taken to hospital by ambulance crews and treated for injuries to her face, which were thankfully not life-threatening. The Met Police confirmed in a statement: "Police were called at approximately 8.15pm on Wednesday, April 16 to reports of a stabbing in Godfrey Avenue, Northolt.", reports The Mirror.
"Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a girl suffering a cut to the head; she was taken to hospital – her injury is not life threatening. A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH and remains in custody. A crime scene was put in place while the incident was dealt with. Enquiries into the circumstances continue."

A representative from the London Ambulance Service stated: "We were called at 8.14pm to reports of a stabbing near Godfrey Avenue, UB5. We dispatched resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a member of our tactical response unit. We provided medical assistance to a teenager at the scene and transported her to a hospital."
