The UK is in for a rainy Easter weekend, and Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England are all in the firing line. Weather maps by WXCharts have revealed which areas will be the worst hit, predicting particularly bad conditions on Good Friday.
At 9:00pm on Friday night, rain will engulf the whole of England's southwest, covering Cornwall right across to Brighton, and stretching up to Manchester. The east coast will be largely spared, although a band of rain will sweep across the centre of the country from Chester, over the Peak District and across to Lincolnshire. South Wales will also face the storm in Cardiff, Swansea and Pembrokeshire, with the worst conditions expected at the coast, as shown by a darker blue colour on the weather map.
Parts of Scotland will also be affected as the rain sweeps up the west, impacting Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and potentially moving across to Edinburgh.
Only the centre of Northern Ireland might stay dry, although heavy rains are predicted for the east and west, including the main cities of Belfast and Londonderry / Derry.
As we move into Saturday, Scotland and parts of the UK will enjoy slightly drier conditions as the rain moves further east, although it is bad news for Wales, as almost the entire country looks to be battered by rain up to 3mm per hour.
The majority of England will stay dry, but western parts will still bear the brunt of the storm before the rain fully disappears to sea, hitting areas such as Liverpool, the Lake District, and Devon in the south.
Northern Ireland will be drenched east of Ballcastle down to Dungannon, engulfing Belfast, and sweeping across the southwest too.
As Easter Sunday celebrations draw to a close at 9pm, the rain will have finally departed from the majority of the country, with showers limited to specific regions.
Unfortunately, Cardiff is in for a soggy weekend as the rain is predicted to continue through Sunday. In England, Cheltenham and Oxford could be caught out with around 1mm of rain.
Suffolk might also get its share of the rain on Sunday after being spared for the rest of the weekend, with predictions for light rainfall of 1mm per hour.
