Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has taken a brutal swipe at Prince Harry after he pipped him to the post for the UK's sexiest male celebrity. Taking to Instagram, the 60-year-old broadcaster celebrated his new accolade as he shared reports of the polling results.
Pointing out that Prince Harry had not even placed in the listing, Piers wrote: "MASSIVE breaking news in @thesun tonight.
My thoughts with @jeremyclarkson1 at this very difficult time… and with the other losers I beat including @davidbeckham (19th), Cillian Murphy (20th) @idriselba (25th), Prince William (31st) and Prince Harry (slipped out of the list altogether). My thanks to all the discerning ladies who voted for me."
Speaking to the publication, Piers took a further swipe at the Prince, saying: “This just proves that British women are the smartest and most discerning in the world, and the most likely to appreciate genuinely magnetic sex appeal. My thoughts with Jezza, Becks and poor old Prince Hypocrite Harry at this very difficult time.”
Fans thought the ratings were hilarious, with them commenting on the TV host's Instagram post poking fun at the presenter. One quipped: "How many times did you vote for yourself?"
Another joked: "April fools was 17 days ago bro," while a third wrote: "Does this mean we will get another pic of Piers lying completely naked in front of a fire with a Burger King medallion?"
IllicitEncounters.com carried out the survey of 2,000 women. The poll’s spokeswoman, Jessica Leoni, said: “Even we were taken aback when Piers soared to the top of the table.
His unapologetic style clearly taps into something deeper for a lot of women — confidence, conviction and not being afraid to ruffle feathers.”
It is the second year running that Piers has outranked the royal on a list of Britain’s “sexiest men”. Last year saw Clarkson's Farm star Jeremy Clarkson land first place while Piers came much further down the line.
Piers was comforted by the fact that he wasn’t the only person to fall within their rankings. He went on to share that Prince Harry had also faced a harsher score this year.
In a dig at Harry, the journalist wrote: “UPDATE: Apparently, Prince Harry came 47th, seven places below me. Suddenly, I feel a lot sexier.”
