Over the long weekend, many high-street supermarkets will adjust their operating hours or close entirely. Shoppers are encouraged to verify their local store's specific opening times before venturing out this weekend for a last-minute Easter shop.
Here's a list of opening times for major supermarkets:
Aldi
Most Aldi stores will be closed on Easter Sunday but will continue to operate until 10pm on Saturday. The stores will also reopen at 8am on Monday.
Asda
Asda stores will remain open until 10pm on Saturday, April 19, allowing customers to gather supplies before they close on Easter Sunday. These stores will reopen at 8am on Easter Monday. However, standalone petrol forecourts, Express stores and Scotland stores will maintain regular operations throughout the weekend.
Co-op
For those who favour Co-op, all convenience stores are expected to stay open for the entire weekend. However, larger Co-op supermarkets outside of Scotland will be closed on Sunday.
Lidl
Lidl will keep its usual opening hours on Saturday and will be closed on Sunday. Opening times on Monday will differ between regions, so customers are advised to check their local store's timings.
Marks and Spencer
The majority of Marks and Spencer stores will be closed on Sunday but will keep their standard operating hours from 8am to 8pm for the rest of the long weekend. Customers are also advised to verify their local store hours online before heading out.
Sainsbury's
All Sainsbury's supermarkets, barring those in Scotland, will remain shut on Sunday. Most will also alter their trading hours on Monday, opening at 8am, but Saturday hours are expected to be the same as usual.
Tesco
Large Tesco stores across England and Wales will close their doors at 10pm on Saturday and reopen at 8am on Monday. Express stores and outlets in Scotland and Northern Ireland should keep their regular hours throughout the week except for Monday when Scottish stores will operate from 8am to 10pm and Northern Ireland stores from 10am to 8pm.
Waitrose
Waitrose will maintain its normal trading hours on Saturday, but all except a few Little Waitrose shops will be closed on Sunday. The majority of stores will reopen at 8am on Monday and resume their normal trading hours.
