Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are said to be “sickened” by talk of their potential divorce. The Sussexes have been surrounded by speculation since news that their $100million Netflix deal is nearing its end after the release of Meghan’s lifestyle programme With Love, Meghan. Set to last five years, the question is now whether Netflix will choose to renew that deal.
Podcast hosts Marina Hyde and Richard Osman – who present The Rest is Entertainment together – were among those to fuel said speculation, with Marina suggesting: “First of all, there's not going to be a severing with Netflix. They're not going to renew, but they might say we're continuing to develop projects with them. I have to say – and this is the reality – is that a lot of people are hanging around in case there's a divorce. Because then, and that might be Netflix, or whoever it might be who's got a deal with them, might keep a vague hand in.”
Now one source has claimed to Heat magazine that the royal couple are “sickened” by the idea, stating: “There’s absolutely a sense that people are trying to build relationships with them in case there’s a divorce. But the idea that Netflix, or anyone else they’re working with, is just biding their time and waiting for them to implode is horrifying to Meghan and Harry. They both find it sickening that people would make those sorts of accusations.”
They added that while they’re aware they’re “under a microscope”, the pair don’t buy into rumours that “Netflix is only working with them to be the first in line for their downfall”. The source added that Meghan and Harry are trying to shut out the noise and get on with their lives, but “know there are plenty of vultures” who would “love to see them break up”.
May 2025 will mark seven years of marriage for the couple, who moved to Montecito in California after fleeing the UK with their children Archie and Lilibet.
Now Meghan is set to release her own podcast, after launching an online shop where fans can buy her style favourites.
