Home buyers looking for a new property in Spain could snap up Casa Alamanda, which Alan Carr and Amanda Holden renovated during their hit BBC series. Located in the village of Moclín, the stunning Spanish townhouse is currently up for grabs for €245,000 and at the time was their biggest project to date. After visiting Tuscany and Sicily in the first two seasons, Amanda and Alan went to Spain for season three to turn a crumbling house into a beautiful, chic boutique B&B. The pair recently announced that their BBC series has been renewed for a fourth season, and will be set in Corfu in Greece.
The Spanish property has many appealing qualities that make it perfect for a new home. The restored home includes three well-sized bedrooms, two bathrooms, a modern kitchen, and a dining room.
It also comprises a patio garden, a roof terrace for outdoor dining, and interiors inspired by the timeless architecture. Lee Thornley was brought in to help on the project. As founder of specialist tile company Bert & May, he used his expertise to consult on the property's design. Local construction companies, subcontractors, and suppliers were also hired during the project.
Previously touching on the BBC show, Amanda Holden said, "It's wonderful how often I'm stopped in the street and told how much people love our show. Alan and I have the best time filming it, and to have reached series three already is beyond the dreams of our lockdown pitch to the BBC."
The townhouse is being marketed for offers over €245,000. All the sale proceeds will be split and donated equally to Comic Relief and BBC Children in Need.
Granada Village & Country real estates said, "This house had been empty for 35 years, and one of the attractive aspects of working with Alan and Amanda on this project was that it would breathe new life into a property right on the village square.
"Many villages like Moclín suffer from rural depopulation, as young people leave their family communities to find work in larger towns and cities. Restoring old and abandoned village homes brings so much to the area in terms of the local economy, the continuation of traditions, the opportunity for revenue generation and even employment, so it has been a joy seeing this lovely house being brought back to life, and with such sensitivity."
Alan and Amanda's Italian Job can be streamed on BBC iPlayer.
