A EuroMillions winner who bagged a whopping £148million is reportedly abandoning his seven bed luxury home to move in with his mum. Adrian Bayford, 54, was working as a postman when he won the staggering jackpot along with his then-wife Gillian in 2012.
But, he is now ditching his luxury pad close to the border of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, which he shares with his fiancée Tracey Biles, to move in with his 80-year-old mum. The couple will downsize to his mum's modest four-bed home that he bought for her with his millions as his sprawling Grade II-listed mansion is now “full of bad memories”.
Speaking to The Sun, a friend said that the lottery winner was hoping to “downsize and have a simple life and go back to how things used to be before he was mega rich”.
His friend added: “He loves Tracey. He loves his mum so it makes sense for them to all move in together.”
Adrian proposed to ambulance worker Tracey last Christmas, he split from Gillian 15 months after their life-changing win.
The couple, who are set to get married this summer, had tried to sell the country mansion for £12 million in 2023 but were forced to take it off the market.
Adrian's luxury home on the outskirts of Cambridge had a vineyard, he also opened an Airbnb and staged festivals.
The Cambridge Rock Festival was a four day event with tickets starting at £129, increasing up to £139, £149 and £159. The music festival had around 60 rock bands and went until 11pm each night.
However the event faced severe local opposition primarily due to noise concerns, specifically complaints about "intolerable" noise, icreased traffic and anti-social behaviour. The Lotto winner was forced to scrap the festival in 2023 as the local council refused to provide him with a licence.
Last month the father of two reportedly withdrew plans to build a children's theme park on the estate it was set to include a train ride, renewable energy-themed play barn, maze and car park.
