Double Oscar winner Hilary Swank looked sensational in new images as she posed for the latest edition of Women’s Health UK. The 50-year-old wowed in a series of swimwear shots in blue hues and posed seductively in a fitted aquamarine maxi dress. The Hollywood star looked in fantastic shape just two years after welcoming her first children Aya and Ohm with entrepreneur husband Philip Schneider, 51, in 2023 after freezing her eggs when she was 37.
Admitting she would have liked children earlier she said: “I’m not saying I actively waited until 47. But… it was the right time for a myriad of reasons." Indeed, the wait proved fortuitous for Hilary who confessed she is a “much more patient” parent now than she would have been in her early forties. “I am much… interested in a different way than I would’ve been. I’m really interested in their brains. I am fascinated about what makes them tick. And I have my career that’s already established, so I’m not divided. I’m able to really sink in and be present with them and be a hands-on parent.”
The star recently won rave reviews for her role in the third series of Yellowjackets and, despite being at an age where most actresses decry a lack of work, she claims she is busier than ever.
The Million Dollar Baby alum, who will turn 51 in July, told Women’s Health UK magazine: “Most people might be like, ‘Aren’t you worried that you’re now 50 and there’s not a lot of jobs?’
"I’m like, ‘No, I have more offers now than I’ve ever had.’ It’s an exciting time.”
Reflecting on how the industry has changed since she started out in the early 1990s, she admitted it is less patriarchal.
“Thankfully, it’s becoming more inclusive,” she said revealing that at the beginning of her career she was playing female characters written by men.
Explaining the issue with that she said their take on womanhood “wasn’t necessarily true”.
“It’s not that I don’t like being feminine, I just don’t like being told how to be feminine,” she said.
