Prince Louis is seven today and is likely to be spoiled by his nearest and dearest. As well as plenty of presents and birthday cheer, Prince William and Princess Kate’s youngest son is also likely to have his very own birthday cake to celebrate his big day. While many young children love chocolate, cakes and sweets on their birthdays, Louis may also be hoping to see some of his favourite food on the family dining table. This includes one unusual food item that is loved by the young prince - beetroot.
This was revealed by his mum Princess Kate in 2019 when she spoke to baking legend Mary Berry about how the family like growing their own vegetables.
During a chat with the cooking icon, Kate said: “We grow our own vegetables, we've got carrots, beans, beetroot's a massive favourite, Louis absolutely loves beetroot."
While beetroot is unlikely to be on the birthday menu today, it is one of the more unusual foods loved by the young prince.
However, it has been revealed before that Louis does also like the type of food children are known to love, including cheesy pasta and pizza.
His love for pizza was something else Kate revealed during a chat with Mary, where she even shared how the children had made their own pizza using Mary Berry's pizza dough recipe.
Talking about cooking with her children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, Kate told Mary in 2019: "I really enjoy it.
“Actually one of the last things we cooked, together, was your pizza dough. We made pizzas with your pizza dough recipe...They absolutely loved it."
While it is not known how the prince will spend his special day, it is likely the young royal will be with his nearest and dearest, including his parents and his siblings.
It is also likely that Louis will be spoiled with gifts from family members, including the King and Queen Camilla.
