Cheers! That's the message to all proud Englishmen and women celebrating St George's Day today.

Proper Pubs - the award-winning community wet-led operator division of Admiral Taverns - which has more than 200 pubs across England, Scotland and Wales is making the generous offer of free pints to all its pubs in England.

Customers must simply log onto the WiFi in the pub and they could be surprised with a voucher for a free pint of John Smiths.

Proper Pubs said there will be 2,000 free pints being handed out across all participating pubs on Wednesday.

St George’s Day is held each year to honour the patron saint of England who, according to legend, slayed a dragon and saved a princess when he was a soldier in the Roman army.

Mark Brooke, the Managing Director of Proper Pubs, said: “St George’s Day is a brilliant opportunity to bring people together and celebrate all that’s great about communities across England.
