Prince Louis is celebrating his seventh birthday today, with Kensington Palace releasing a new photograph of the young royal to mark the occasion. In the sweet photo, taken by photographer Josh Shinner, the prince can be seen smiling at the camera with some of his front teeth missing. He is wearing a smart shirt and jumper for the occasion.

While plenty of fans have flocked to wish the royal a good day, others have been quick to compare Louis to one of his relatives. On X, a number of fans have noted how Louis looks very similar to Princess Kate’s dad, Michael Middleton.

One fan wrote on X: “Happy Birthday Louis, so like Grandpa Middleton.”

Another said: “He looks so much like Catherine’s father.”

A third commented: “Mini Grandpa Middleton.”

Another wrote: “Happy birthday Prince Louis! Such a handsome young boy, every inch a Middleton.”

It is not known how Louis plans to celebrate his special day, however it is believed he will be with his nearest and dearest.

The young prince is also likely to be spoiled with presents, along with a birthday cake made by his mum Princess Kate, who once revealed that it had become a tradition to make a cake for her children.

The princess told Mary Berry in 2019: “I love making the cake. It's become a bit of a tradition that I stay up 'til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But I love it.”
